The Classroom Is in Scholastic…Time for a Giveaway!

Remember when you were a kid and your teacher would hand out those Scholastic book club order forms and you would wiggle in your plastic school seat, excited out of your mind, and you’d rip through the form circling every amazing book you could find, then beg your mama for money promising to clean kitty litter until you were thirty just so you could order ALL those books and then you’d sit on the edge of your bed not moving or breathing until the day those books FINALLY arrived at school because that was the best day ever??!!

Well, if that was you, then we are EXACTLY THE SAME.

So I can’t even explain how excited I was when I found out THE CLASSROOM would be in Scholastic’s book club. Here it is on page two!

My publisher also sent me a box of hardcover Scholastic books, so we all know what THAT means! GIVEAWAY! (Yep, I just said that in my head all sing-songy.)

So here’s what I want to do…I’m going to give TWO of you not just one book, but TWO. One book I’d like for you to keep for yourself or share with your child. But the other book? I’d like for you to donate it. You could donate it to your kid’s classroom teacher or the school library or your local public library (especially if they don’t have a copy!).

I mention the part about donating to a local public library because my father has noticed that many small libraries in my home state of Georgia do not have the funds to order my books, so he has been driving around to these libraries and donating them in my name. SWEETEST. THING. EVER. And they are so incredibly appreciative.

So if you could help me donate the book to another place that needs it, I’d be grateful!!

Okay, to enter just leave me a comment and an email so I can reach you. Contest ends in one week!

Hurray for being in the book order!! Since moving to MS I’ve found the libraries to need support — just like everywhere else. I donate books from my reviewing gig and would love to add yours (I can even do it in your name if you like!) Congrats on your latest success, Robin!

I teach remedial reading to teens. Your books would be high interest and motivate my students to read more. In other words…PICK MEMEME!

    Robin,
I’m immediately drawn to the title because i’ve always loved being in school classrooms — as a student, as a young adult visiting my mom’s classroom where she taught, as a substitute teacher, as a classroom parent — and hopefully in the future as an author! I love the concept of your giveaway and hope that the copy I might receive will bring me good luck and that the copy distributed will touch the minds and hearts of many children — just as teachers do!

    Hi Robin!
Such a nifty idea – one to keep and one to donate. Fingers crossed that I win! :) Shannon

  • About Robin

The first book in my middle grade series, THE CLASSROOM: The Epic Documentary of a Not-Yet Epic Kid, is now available from Disney-Hyperion. It's a mockumentary of life in seventh grade...oh, the awkwardness.

And my teen novel, DITCHED: A Love Story, is about a 16-year old girl who has one of those nights she'll always remember (and a prom she wants to forget). Check out the Teen Books section for an excerpt!
